I keep having these dreams where I’m wandering around a city, totally lost. My phone’s battery is dying, it’s getting dark, and all the places I go to are closed. Sometimes, I’m stuck on a subway, and the routes are so confusing—I can’t figure out how to get home. It feels endless and overwhelming.
These dreams have pretty much replaced my old anxiety dreams about school. They’re not scary exactly, but they leave me feeling super stressed. Does anyone else get dreams like this?
Dreams about being lost in a city or on an endless subway often symbolize feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, or a lack of direction in your waking life. The city and subway reflect environments where things are fast-paced, overwhelming, and hard to navigate—much like situations that might feel out of control or confusing in real life.
City Setting:
The city in your dream may symbolize a larger, complex system—your responsibilities, relationships, or even societal expectations—that feels difficult to navigate. The closed places and dying phone might represent a lack of resources or support, leaving you feeling stuck.
Subway and Endless Route:
Subways often symbolize transitions or journeys in life. Getting lost or being unable to find the right route may reflect uncertainty about your path, decisions, or direction. The endless nature of the route could point to feelings of being trapped in a cycle or overwhelmed by too many choices.
Replacement of School Anxiety Dreams:
It’s interesting that these dreams have taken over for your old school-related anxiety dreams. This could indicate a shift in what’s causing stress in your life—perhaps your current worries have moved from academic pressure to adult responsibilities, career, or finding balance in a chaotic world.
