This was a pretty interesting dream. I was naked and floating face down in this black water, but it felt warm, and I wasn’t scared. Then, I rolled over onto my back, and the water was full of other naked people, all floating face down too. But I knew they were just asleep. I was on this huge river of sleep, surrounded by other sleepers. It was nighttime, and the moon and stars were above. The river was carrying us gently into a canyon. On the shores, there were hundreds of tiny glowing people, maybe about 6 inches tall, with pastel-colored skin. I wasn’t sure if I was giant or if they were just tiny.
As the current brought people closer to shore, they’d roll over like a log, and the glowing beings would touch their foreheads. The foreheads would light up in whatever color the glowing beings were, and then the sleepers would float on without waking up. I understood that these little glowing creatures were giving us our dreams for the night. Not everyone rolled over and got a dream, but ahead, the river was lit up with dreamers. As I got closer to the shore, a green glowing being was waiting for me, hands outstretched. I could tell it had a tree-related dream inside it. It seemed surprised that I was awake. Even though it didn’t have a face or features, I somehow knew it was male. With such love, it closed my eyes for me, like I was dead. It used one tiny hand for each eyelid. After that, a new dream started where I was driving through a park in town, and it was probably related to trees.
This dream seems to be deeply symbolic, with the river representing the flow of consciousness and dreams. The warmth and comfort you felt in the water suggest a connection to the natural state of dreaming—unconscious, relaxed, and free. The people floating face down could symbolize the shared nature of dreams, with everyone being part of the same experience but still separate in their individual journeys.
The glowing beings who touched the dreamers’ foreheads are likely symbolic of the way our dreams are often out of our direct control but influenced by external, unseen forces. The green being with the tree-related dream inside it may symbolize growth, renewal, or the way nature plays a role in the way we process emotions and experiences, as trees often represent stability and grounding. Its surprise at your awakening could indicate the rarity or uniqueness of your awareness in the dream state.
The entire dream could represent your connection to the collective unconscious or the idea that dreams come from an outside source, filled with meaning but often beyond our conscious understanding. The tree-related dream that followed could symbolize something you are working through in waking life, possibly related to growth, stability, or emotional nourishment.
