For as long as I can remember, I’ve had recurring dreams about a house I lived in as a child, from ages 8 to 12. It’s been over a decade since my family moved out and bought our current home, but these dreams still come back to me frequently. Every time I dream of this house, it leaves me feeling uneasy, and something strange or unpleasant always seems to happen in the dream.
Interestingly, I’ve also had a few premonitions that came true, which have made me wonder if there’s more to these dreams than I initially thought.
I’m someone who believes in various faiths and feels spiritually protected, but I wonder if these dreams hold a deeper meaning. The house I currently live in feels like a place of peace for me and my family. We’ve considered moving in the past, but somehow we always end up staying here, almost as if the house has a special connection with us. I’ve lived here for over half of my life, and it feels like home in every sense, even spiritually.
In contrast, the old house we lived in had its fair share of strange occurrences. From TVs turning on without a remote to static electricity zapping through the house and even a remote-controlled car starting on its own—these unexplained events have made me question if the house had something strange going on. Could these bizarre experiences be tied to the dreams I keep having about it?
Dreaming repeatedly about your childhood home, especially with feelings of unease, could be tied to unresolved emotions or experiences from that time. The house might symbolize a part of your past that still influences your current life. The strange incidents you recall, such as electronic malfunctions, could be a metaphor for feelings of instability or unfinished business in your life at the time.
Your current home brings you peace, which may indicate that you’ve found a place of emotional or spiritual healing. The recurring dreams about your old home might reflect a lingering sense of something unsettled or unresolved that you’ve carried with you, even if you’ve consciously moved on.
