Last night I had this really strange dream where I was in a city I didn’t recognize—it looked like a big European city. I was on a bus with some friends, just chatting, when we suddenly started hearing this weird noise. It wasn’t exactly a whirring sound, but that’s the closest thing I can describe it as.
Then, alarms started blaring, but the sound of the whirring kind of drowned everything else out. We got off the bus, and when we stepped outside, we were on a slope higher than the rest of the city. In the distance, I could see this massive white glow.
Out of nowhere, this huge, symmetrical, fractal-like 2D being appeared in the glow—it was bigger than any building, and it created a silhouette. Then it sent out this awful screech that knocked everyone out around me, but I stayed conscious. The being then started to collapse in on itself, like a black hole.
Next thing I know, there’s this huge explosion, like something out of an apocalypse movie, except it was white and blue “flames.” In that moment, I just kind of accepted my fate. I felt like I was watching the explosion get closer and closer, and for what felt like forever, it just kept replaying over and over, with me embracing it each time. It felt so surreal and weird.
This dream has strong elements of cosmic horror, a genre that focuses on the insignificance of humanity in the face of vast, incomprehensible forces. Here’s what your dream could symbolize:
The City and Whirring Noise: The city might represent the known world or your everyday life, and the strange whirring noise could symbolize an impending change or realization that disrupts normalcy.
The Fractal Being and Explosion: The appearance of the being could represent an overwhelming force or truth in your life, one that feels far beyond your control or understanding. Its fractal, symmetric nature might suggest something infinite or repeating, like a deep existential truth or challenge. The explosion, often associated with endings, might symbolize a fear of loss or transformation.
Acceptance of Fate: Embracing the explosion and the repetition of the event may suggest that you’re coming to terms with something in your waking life, whether it’s a major life change, an unresolved issue, or the inevitable nature of certain challenges.
Replaying the Moment: The constant replaying of the explosion could symbolize feeling stuck or being trapped in a cycle, either mentally or emotionally, where you’re confronting something difficult over and over again.
In a broader sense, this dream could be pointing to feelings of existential anxiety or a deep internal process where you’re dealing with big, uncontrollable changes in your life. It may also indicate a sense of acceptance of fate, allowing you to face something overwhelming with calm rather than fear.
