Last night, I had an incredibly vivid and long dream. I can’t recall every detail, but the part that stuck with me is about a large black poodle and its strange behavior.

It began with me inside someone’s living room, arguing with two adults. In the middle of our discussion, I pointed out something crawling along the outside walls. Whatever it was seemed black and unsettling. Despite the tension, the argument wasn’t hostile, just heated.

We eventually went outside to investigate and discovered the “creature” was actually a large black poodle with kind, gentle eyes. The dog was tied to a fence, so I removed its leash to set it free. Soon after, the dog’s owner appeared, but the poodle refused to leave my side and clearly wanted to stay with me. I decided to bring it home.

Oddly, the poodle kept growing larger and larger—eventually standing about 2 meters tall at the shoulder. Later, I went out for coffee with friends, but I didn’t tell the dog where I was going. In its desperation to find me, it caused chaos throughout the city. When we reunited, we hugged, and I felt an overwhelming connection to the dog.

The city’s mayor, however, decided the dog was a threat and wanted it shot. To escape this fate, I left the town with the dog. By the end of the dream, I was riding it like a horse.

I’ve always associated black poodles with ominous meanings. Around my home village, stories circulate about black poodles being harbingers of death or even connected to the devil, especially if their eyes are red. However, the dog in my dream had kind eyes, which leaves me confused. Was this dog a good omen or a bad one?
