This dream was seriously intense. It started in what felt like a prison cafeteria. I remember hearing a loud punch—it was sharp, like someone really got hit. Instinctively, I turned my head to see what was happening. That’s when I noticed a group of Black women standing in a circle, seemingly involved in whatever just went down.

The second I looked over, they called me out for not minding my business. I knew right then that I was in trouble. They made it clear that I’d have to “pay” for looking, for being nosy. It was like there was no way out, so I just accepted it. I told them to go ahead and get it over with.

By that point, we had somehow moved to a bathroom area—maybe a communal prison restroom. That’s when I woke up, just before anything actually happened. I have no idea what to make of this, but it felt disturbingly real.
